Spinebound Bone Shield is a Diablo-inspired fan art shield built around the idea of necromantic defense formed from harvested remains. Rather than a traditional round shield, the design takes a vertical, relic-like form, combining skulls, rib structures, and a central spine bound together with worn leather straps.
The asset is meant to feel ritualistic and ceremonial, as if assembled by a necromancer through repeated use rather than deliberate craftsmanship. The asymmetry, exposed bone structure, and restrained materials were intentional, keeping the piece grounded in dark fantasy realism instead of exaggeration.
I completed the full production pipeline for this asset:
Base modeling and high-poly sculpt
Retopology and clean low-poly setup
UVs and PBR texturing
Lookdev, lighting, and final renders
This project was created as a personal fan art piece to study dark fantasy design language, bone material definition, and silhouette clarity for game-ready assets.
